GMP Mastery™ Auditing Process

Content of GMP Mastery™ Audit

As we help you conduct a GMP Mastery™ Audit, we focus on the following questions as we help you assess your GMP compliance and performance:

How great is your management of strategy and culture?

  • How do you clearly define your organization's purpose and contribution; assess your risks; assure good governance; and establish trusting relationships?

  • How do you communicate your current strategy and focus, assign accountability, manage risks, and evaluate performance and results?

  • How do you allocate and align your resources and constructively remove performance barriers from your organizational climate and culture?

How great is your management of basic organizational practices?

  • How do you currently customize and live the 10 Commitments of Mastery in your basic organizational practices?  (human resources and training; facilities, equipment and material; information and documentation; finance, administration and budget; internal management review of performance and results)

  • How do you "Target Possibilities" to continuously improve performance and results in your basic organizational practices?

  • How do you "Target Possibilities" to lead change and innovation  in your basic organizational practices?

How great is your management of key performance practices?

  • How do you currently customize and live the 10 Commitments of Mastery in your key performance practices?  (marketing, sales, customer/client service and public relations; operations, procurement and supplier relations; and product/service/funding research, design, and development)

  • How do you "Target Possibilities" to continuously improve performance and results in your key performance practices?

  • How do we "Target Possibilities" to lead change and innovation  in your key performance practices?

Findings of GMP Mastery™ Audit

At the end of a GMP Mastery™ Audit, you will have documentation of your practices listed in the three following categories.

  • Critical Risk Observations
Critical risk observations cite areas at which your organization is seriously at risk.  These must be addressed immediately to avoid potentially serious negative consequences.

  • Great Practice Observations
Great Practice Observations cite the areas which are effectively working to produce exceptional and sustainable results.

  • Targeted Possibility Observations
Targeted Possibility Observations fall somewhere in between the first two categories.  They do not represent areas which put your organization at great risk, but they may present an opportunity to improve or innovate.  Targeted Possibility Observations should be further monitored with the goal of deciding whether or not making changes would help your organization "See Better", "Do Better", "Be Better", and "Make a Difference."

After the Audit

After the audit concludes, the real work begins.  You must immediately address any critical risk observations that surfaced during the audit report.  Once that is completed, it is also important to celebrate the great practice observations.  Finally, you must assess the targeted possibility observations to decide when and if you want to start making improvements based on the observation.  As this can be difficult, it is appropriate to consider hiring a coach from the Artisan Consulting Group to guide you along this process.  Just like you might hire a personal trainer to help you lose weight as part of making your New Year's Resolutions really work, a coach will help you realistically assess what you can and should do, and help keep you on track!
